In addition to writing, Dorothy runs a nonprofit organization called Dorothy’s Daughters that provides transitional life coaching, mentorship, and support to help women thrive emotionally and mentally during major life changes or challenges. The organization takes a personalized approach in coming alongside each woman to help identify goals, overcome obstacles, and find resolutions.

As the founder of Dorothy’s Daughters, Dorothy draws on her own experiences as a mother, grandmother, and writer to connect with the women she coaches. She creates an open, judgement-free environment for women to process complex feelings and build resilience. To date, Dorothy has helped hundreds of women successfully transition into new chapters of their lives. Her compassionate, insightful mentorship style fosters sustainable personal growth.
Dorothy views writing and nonprofit consulting and mentoring work as complementary ways to give women a platform, encourage authenticity, and promote empowerment during times of upheaval or rediscovery. She continues to write about relatable women’s experiences while also expanding the reach and impact of Dorothy’s Daughters. She resides in Texas where she consults and scrips out documentaries that tackle issue that are conversation starters, geared towards the needs of the underserved communities, audience.
